Growing up in the 80s, in a small town, Brian showcased a talent for art as a young child. He was encouraged by his family and friends to follow his heart. Porter's immediate environment, life experiences, and music have always been his primary inspiration and motivation. As an artist, he thrives on the experience of painting for the public and is often invited to lend his artistic hand to public murals. His distinctive approach and vivid color palette resonated beyond his hometown, earning him recognition in wider art communities.
His work has been featured in a number of publications, including 'Concrete Powder,' 'Under Pressure,' and 'Always Fresh.' He has also won numerous public-art prizes and competitions, including Warner Brothers' 'The Watchmen' graffiti contest and 'The Williams Mill Art Prize.' Porter's work can be found in galleries and private collections all over the world. With popularity increasing for the demand of his unique style, he has had several magazine publications as well as art shows.
In 2009, he was invited to a Toronto graffiti contest put on by Warner Brothers for the Watchmen movie at Yonge and Dundas Square, performing live. In 2012, Brian was selected to have a solo art show in Park City, Utah, for the Sundance movie festival 2013, and later, the Canadian Pacific Corporation collection. In addition to his gallery displays, Brian also has private collections featured in a private airport chain, which is visible to political, business, and sports professionals for purchase or custom orders. Porter has collaborated closely with galleries to exhibit his extensive expertise in graffiti murals, airbrushing, palette knife techniques, charcoal, and painting, characterized by profound mountain textures and dynamic brushwork. His distinct approach to color and creativity, crowned with a striking signature, has carved a unique niche for him in the art world, earning his work the distinction of "That's a Porter."
